Deck-o-seal mastic is one of the most important preventative maintenance service you must do every 7 years or so.  Your pool deck is made to move, slightly.  The deck o seal mastic is made to keep water from penetrating through the joints between your coping and deck.  Once this seal is broken, rain water and water from splashing, getting in and out of your pool has no place to go but through the breach.  This water does not “drain”  it simply sits underneath your pool decking and coping undermining the integrity of the coping to the bondbeam of the pool.  Once this breaks down you can expect your tiles to start cracking and coming off.  Along with pool decking will start moving, raising, lowering or cracking.
